ABOUT US
New Forest for Ukraine is a group of like-minded, non-political volunteers living in the New Forest. We are united by our determination to assist the millions of families displaced and suffering as a result of the conflict in Ukraine, and we have demonstrated that together - we can make a difference.
We focus on collecting and delivering the latest required aid directly to Ukrainians displaced within Ukraine, and we do so quickly and efficiently. We have a network of drop off spots across the New Forest to which the public donate aid. The sites range from garden centres and shops to volunteers' houses, from where our transport volunteers carry the aid to our Lymington hub. There, our hub volunteers sort, service as required, then pack, label and palletise the aid ready for shipment.
When we commenced in February 2022, aid was shipped by cars. As the needs grew, we delivered by vans. Today it is carried on scheduled articulated trucks, each carrying 8 to 10 tonnes of humanitarian aid. All funded by public donations generated by appeals and by attending events.
As of March 2025, we have sent over 500 metric tonnes of aid. We also work to ensure door-to-door traceability demonstrating donations get to the people who need them most, including individuals and families sheltering close to the conflict zones.
We cooperate with other UK based Ukraine support groups to maximize efficiencies, sharing collections and deliveries. We ship only to vetted and trusted Ukrainian Charity Foundations to ensure the right aid gets to the right people as quickly as possible.
Updates on the very latest requirements are provided by Ukraine weekly, and we adjust our campaigns and appeals accordingly. We react swiftly to each new disaster, striving to deliver exactly what is required to the requested locations, often before larger charities possibly can.
